Our Story
Humble Warrior Yoga was born from a lifelong yearning to connect—with myself, with one another, and with something greater than myself.
Â
I had taken a yoga class here and there over the years but my physical journey with yoga asanas really began in 2013. In many ways, though, my mind and soul had been on the journey long before. I carried a deep longing to connect with others and to learn to live from a place of love rather than fear.
Â
Along the way, I became a student of growth, healing, and self-awareness. I began to dream of creating a space where kindred spirits could gather—a place where people could pause, breathe, move, learn, laugh, heal, and simply be.
Â
Yoga became an especially important part of my life during an eight-year battle with debilitating Lyme disease. When so much felt uncertain, yoga was a constant I could count on. It helped steady my anxious mind, nourish my weary soul, and give me strength while living with chronic pain. There were seasons when my physical practice waned, but the inner journey never stopped. The work of personal growth, awareness, and learning to listen to myself continued.
Â
In 2019, I began my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Crowtown Yoga and teacher Cindy Kostecki. The pandemic eventually kept us from meeting together in person, but it couldn't dampen our spirit or our commitment. We graduated in August 2020, carrying with us the knowledge, connection, and courage to begin sharing yoga with others.
Â
I first started teaching in a friends' basement and then a church gym. A connection with a fellow YTT teacher opened another door and changed everything: an opportunity to teach in a beautiful botanical garden.
Â
Humble Warrior Yoga was born in the winter of 2022, and in January 2023, I began teaching at Clary Gardens. Within a year, Susan joined the team, and shortly afterward, Heidi came on board. Together, we built something truly special.

Leaving Clary Gardens was bittersweet and was not a decision made lightly. But anyone who has practiced yoga understands that growth can be uncomfortable. Sometimes we have to release what we love in order to make room for what is next—to continue evolving toward our fullest potential.

In the summer of 2026, an opportunity appeared with what felt like a nudge to take the next leap.
Â
In 2006, while working as a real estate agent, I sold a building to a friend who lovingly transformed it into a beautiful space. Years later, as her own life evolved and she began looking to downsize, the building was searching for a new purpose.

It truly became a full circle moment when I realized that Humble Warrior Yoga had found her home.Â

We are creating a safe, welcoming space for the people of Coshocton and the surrounding communities—a place dedicated to personal transformation, lifelong learning, connection, and cultivating peace in our world.

A haven where we can transform individually and collectively, walking together on our journeys.
Â
At Humble Warrior, yoga is about so much more than the physical postures. We encourage you to carry your practice beyond the mat and into your everyday life.Â
Â
Through asana, we develop flexibility, strength, balance, and a deeper connection with our bodies.

Through meditation, we discover clarity and create space to become more aware of our thoughts, emotions, and inner world.

Through pranayama, we cultivate calm and energy, discovering the powerful connection between breath and body.

Through the Yamas and the Niyamas we learn an ethical foundation and moral code for living a meaningful life.Â
Â
Come breathe. Come move. Come grow. Come connect.

Let's choose mindfulness as we walk this journey together, embodying the essence of yoga and creating a little more peace within ourselves and in the world around us.
